Description

First-printing San Francisco concert poster for the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane and the Butterfield Blues Band (with the latter headlining) performing at the Winterland ballroom on Friday and Saturday nights, October 7 & 8, 1966. Designed by Wes Wilson, this poster is known as BG-30 in the Bill Graham numbered poster series.
Wes Wilson’s exceptional design including superlative coloring carries this poster, not to mention the presence of three headliners. This heavy-duty bill couldn’t have fit into the Fillmore, it had to play the larger Winterland. It’s in good condition with single tak holes in the corners, a small tear in the upper left margin, handling bends, soft corners nad multiple tape stains on the reverse. Measures 11 7/8″ x 24 3/8″.
